Curriculum Overview
The Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) program KICS offers is a curriculum that encourages strong independence in children. It is a student-centred, self-directed learning system that promotes mastery of core skills needed for life-long learning, teaches goal setting and attention to detail.
It also focuses on character building with the Bible and its values at the centre of every subject.

Levels / Grades
Preschool and Kindergarten (3-5 years old)

Early Childhood Education sets the foundation upon which the rest of a child’s schooling is based.
At KICS we aim to provide students with a balanced programme which focuses on learning through play, experimentation and investigation, enfolded in biblical values and character traits.
We concentrate on helping students achieve age appropriate milestones and targets. We also encourage students to use their five senses to explore the world around them, to be creative and use their imagination.
We believe each child is unique and has special gifts and abilities. It is our focus to help develop their abilities and to build up a child’s confidence, self-esteem as well as independent thinking skills.
Primary (Levels 1-7)

The ACE Primary Programme allows students to study at their own ability level and pace. It is an alternative to conventional schools, in which students are assigned PACEs (Packets of Accelerated Christian Education – workbooks) that promote high quality learning mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. It covers the core learning areas of Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Word Building (spelling/grammar) and Literature and Creative Writing. This core curriculum ensures students do not miss out on any important steps in their education, providing a fundamentally sound education. Students master reading and comprehension skills, math skills and with the continual revision, skills and information are retained in students’ long term memory.
At KICS we also believe in engaging students in a range of activities to develop creativity and other foundational skills. Subjects like Music, Art, ICT, HPE and Design and Technology are integrated into the curriculum to give students a holistic education.
Secondary (Levels 8-12)

As with the Primary Programme, the ACE secondary programme is a student centred, individualized curriculum in which students complete courses and subject suited to their needs and ability. There are core subjects which students need to complete and then around 50 electives that students can choose from to complete the credits required to attain their certificate. KICS is registered with the International Certificate of Christian Education (ICCE), which offers a range of certificates choices for students, including the General Certificate which is equivalent to completing S4 or O levels and the Advanced Certificate which is equivalent to completing S6 or A levels. Being registered with ICCE, which is recognised worldwide, gives students the opportunity to pursue higher education both in Uganda (certificates are equated by UNEB) and internationally.
