About us

Kabale International Christian School (KICS)

Welcome to Kabale International Christian School (KICS). KICS is an international, day school located in Kabale Municipality, Kabale District, South Western Uganda. KICS uses the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) Curriculum, a mastery based curriculum, used in many countries throughout the world, with strong Biblical values at its core.

At KICS the emphasis is to produce strong and principled students who are not only academically gifted but holistically moulded and shaped to be productive members of society. We currently enrol students in Pre-School, Kindergarten, Primary and students beginning Secondary.

KICS is licensed through the Ministry of Education and Sports of Uganda as well as registered internationally with AEE (Accelerated Education Enterprises), South Africa, and ICCE (International Certificate of Christian Education) in the United Kingdom.

KICS began as a result of Ben and Esther Ward homeschooling their own children using the ACE curriculum and being approached by numerous people looking for an alternative educational approach. After prayer and God’s guidance KICS was founded.

DIRECTOR, KICS

Benjamin Ward

The Director of KICS, Benjamin Ward, is originally from the United Kingdom where he worked as a land surveyor after finishing secondary school. Hearing the call of God, he moved to Uganda in 2005. With over 20 years of varied Christian ministry and leadership experience in both Uganda and Australia he founded KICS and is the current Director and owner of the school. He holds a Diploma in Church Leadership from iSEE College/Alphacrucis University in Australia.

PRINCIPAL, KICS

Esther Ward

The Principal of KICS, Esther Ward is originally from Australia where she graduated with a Bachelor of Education from Christian Heritage College. After working as a teacher for several years she felt the call of God to teach overseas. With a passion for Africa, motivated by a missions trip to Uganda in 2005, Esther applied for and got a job teaching at a leading international school in Kampala. After moving o Kabale, and homeschooling her own children, she and her husband Ben started KICS.
